Why I Believe Physiotherapy is the
Solution to Body Pains

physical therapy

I’m Jane and this is my story about how I overcame pain which started as something mild and upon ignoring it for some period it matured to something more painful and it became chronic.

Two years ago, I started experiencing pain on the back of my thighs when walking. I never thought it was anything serious therefore I never gave it much thought or attention. This was the first mistake that I committed. I thought that the pain would go away after purchasing over-the-counter drugs to fight it.

After about two weeks, the pain started getting a bit serious. This time it would present itself as a low ache which would often have moments of intermittent shooting pains at night. At this point I knew that I had to seek medical attention.

The first health care facility that I visited examined me and gave me some anti-inflammatory drugs. They reduced the pain to some extent but it was like instead of getting healed, the pain was gradually piling up each day. After six weeks of using their drugs, I went back to them and requested further tests. They carried put a prognosis for arthritis but it was negative. They did further test only to reach to a conclusion that the pain was being caused by trauma of sitting the whole day at the office.

They gave me more drugs and advised me to go for workouts as well as a check on my diets. This worked for some time but not long. A used to feel a bit relieved after a workout exercise but nothing much was happening. After about six months of all this, the pain started encroaching on my lower part of my back.

exerciseThis made me realize that what I had was a serious condition and the best was to treat it was to research. My first stop was the internet. I read a lot about treatment of back pain and little was found about pain on the thighs. But since it was finding its way to my back, I figured out that the same mode of treatment would work.

I researched about different treatment from both conventional and alternative medicine. Having already tried modern medicine without much success I decided to try alternative medicine.

From my research, one technique seemed to thrill me and I decided to go for it – physiotherapy. The technique involved an holistic approach of treatment whereby the whole body muscle are manipulated to reduce tension which might have build up in them due to sedentary lifestyle such as the one I was leading by sitting all day in the office.

I did a quick search on the internet and I was able to buy materials about physiotherapy as well as schedule an appointment with an experienced physiotherapy physician that I found online too. 7 weeks into the program, the pain was gone.

Now I’m happy, healed and tried to always ensure that my lifestyle doesn’t stress my body to a point of creating tension in the joints and ligament which results eventually to chronic pain. I do this by having regular exercising; yoga is my favorite and eating a proper diet.
